Everett Square Theatre is built.
1915
Built for moving pictures, it is located at 17 – 19 Fairmount Avenue. The theater seats 739 and also hosts live vaudeville, musical, and other performances. Milton Berle signs a backstage wall after his performance there on May 29, 1925. Subsequently called the Fairmount Theatre and then the Nu-Pixie, it closes in the mid 1980s, and the building is subsequently used as an auction house. With support from Historic Boston Inc., a replica of the original marquee sign is installed on the front of the building in November 2011. Local residents are hoping to renovate the building and return it to use as a theater.
